What is the BT Stop Sell all about?
The Stop Sell of WLR is due to come into force on 5th September 2023. New line orders and transfers will not be available from that date.
In practicality what that means for consumers is that from that date new line orders will be solely actioned on on BT’s new digital network, no orders will be processed for analogue lines or for analogue systems. Perhaps most importantly and perhaps not made as clear as it should be, any customers still on BT’s older analogue network won’t be able to make transfers (if you’re moving premises for example) or amendments to (extra lines, removing lines etc.) beyond that date either.
This is all in preparation for the BT 2025 Switch Off when the old BT analogue network is turned off anyway, so BT obviously need all of their customers and reseller customers to be on their digital network at that point.
Don’t delay – get ready today
We recommend getting your business ready well ahead of time, so you can forget about BT Stop Sell and BT 2025 Switch off, and any other related event or notice BT send out, and get on with running your business, safe in the knowledge that your phones and indeed broadband are future proof and your business won’t suddenly be interrupted.
It might not just be phones you need to consider, many businesses have other connected systems that might also be affected by the BT 2025 switch off. Alarms and other security systems like door access controls and CCTV might also use BT’s network, so there might be other things to consider. Older ADSL broadband connections might also need attention.
