Marple Hall School have been a Service Telecom customer for years, and we work closely with the school’s IT and network manager to maintain and improve the infrastructure to ensure that future requirements are met.
We recently completed a major network upgrade over five years to ensure that the most urgent areas requiring attention we tackled as a priority, and to ensure that the school’s budget could be effectively managed.
BT’s 2027 switch off (then 2025) was a major driving factor behind the upgrade, and amongst other things, the school needed to move away from a traditional telephone system to a future-proof VoIP system.
We were involved in the system planning and set-up to ensure that the current system structure was maintained and improved, working closely with the IT team so that they could collaborate and understand the incoming improvements.
Once planning was completed, we set up the new phone system remotely, in the background to avoid disruption, with shared access so that school staff could observe and approve according to their requirements. We targetted and achieved installation during school holidays to further minimise disruption.
This collaborative approach, coupled with the ability to make changes remotely and before the system went live, provided client satisfaction (the school was delighted).
